Michael Epstein
EXPERIENCE

Mr. Epstein joined Bain Capital in 2018 as part of Bain Capital Real Estate’s founding team. He is the General Counsel for Real Estate. Prior to joining Bain Capital, Mr. Epstein was Senior Vice President and counsel in Harvard Management Company’s (HMC) Real Estate Investment Group. Mr. Epstein is responsible for overseeing all legal aspects of the fund, including structuring, acquisitions, asset management and dispositions.

Prior to joining HMC, from 2005 to 2012, Mr. Epstein provided legal support to Fidelity Investments focusing on its national and international real estate and corporate activities. Prior to that, he served as Head of the Real Estate Law Department of John Hancock Financial Services Company. Mr. Epstein also was an associate at Palmer & Dodge in Boston specializing in real estate law from 1985 to 1987.

EDUCATION

Mr. Epstein holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Michigan and a law degree from the University of Florida, where he was Executive Editor and Tax Editor of the Law Review. He also holds a certificate from the Boston University School of Management, Leadership Institute.
